Tumores de corteza suprarrenal en Paraguay: hallazgos genéticos y conside-raciones a tener en cuenta para el diagnóstico

Resumen

El tumor de corteza suprarrenal (TCA) es 12 a 18 veces más frecuente en el sur de Brasil que en cualquier otro lugar, siendo una de las causas, la presencia en esta población de la variante del gen TP53R337H. En años recientes, una investigación realizada en el país descubrió que la región fronteriza con Brasil, debido a su alta migración brasileña, también presentó frecuencias de la variante del referido gen similares al sur del Brasil (5/10.000 nacidos vivos). Este trabajo detalla los aspectos genéticos que subyacen al tumor de TCA y las consideraciones para diagnóstico y tratamiento a tener en cuenta debito al índice de la variante detectada.
